Ian Blake: A Lift’s Trustee February 2011 - May 2013

It with sadness that Lift is saying goodbye to Ian Blake, who unexpectedly passed away in May 13. Ian served as Lift’s Trustee and he will be greatly missed by all of us.

Ian joined Lift in February 2011 and during the 2 years that followed played an important role in driving Lift forward, making it a much more effective and robust organisation. Ian brought a much valued employment knowledge to the board and under his guidance – Lift was able to support greater number of people, many of whom were homeless, into employment, from 25 people moving to employment in 2011-12 to 50 in 2012-13.

Ian will be remembered by us all for his insightful contribution, his supportive and practical approach and for being simply put a “top bloke”.

Lift will be opening additional premises in Dec 2013, which will be used to support more people into employment. We plan to dedicate this newly created space to commemorate Ian’s contribution to Lift.
