The current market for jobs is difficult but it is even harder when you have been out of work for some time. Lift provides specialist support to our clients to move them into work. To increase the chances of this happening we move beyond traditional job seeking techniques by proactively linking our clients with local employers.
Two of our clients recently benefited from this model when they completed a 4 week work placement with local construction company, Cosmur.

Ayan and Frank were delighted to get some up to date work experience to enhance their employment prospects.
Ayan, explained the positives that the opportunity brought to her:
”I really enjoyed my work placement with Cosmur. All the staff including senior management really made me feel comfortable and part of their team. I feel that I have gained in confidence since working there and have had the opportunity to use and build on my existing skills in Office administration and Reception. The placement will help me to move on and has really helped my job prospects.”
Frank found that the placement helped restore some belief in him again:
”I was hesitant at first because I wasn’t sure I could do the job, but it gave me something to focus on and working at Cosmur has given me the confidence to believe in myself again. The staff were brilliant and really supportive and made me feel like I was fully fledged member of their team.
What was great was that I was involved in so many different areas of the business. I worked on Business development, called new and existing contractors and attended Business development meetings. I found the work challenging at times but I was really made to feel that the work I was doing was worthwhile.”
